Hi I Love the new face of Sigma design, but my images are now all chopped up & bottoms sliced away when being shown in the user listing page. Was perfect before in Fluid. It would appear I have to redo my general Image Settings in Admin. So far not coming up with correctness. What is other's experience for base settings for Sigma? Also, Is there another file in the new Sigma which controls these settings? BarryG
The devil is in the details. Can you please provide more specific and detailed information regarding the issue that you are experiencing? A link to your website showing this issue would also be helpful. This is most likely something within the CSS, however without details and/or specific information would be looking for a needle in a haystack, so to speak. FYI: The template itself has no bearing on the image manipulation done by the software script also when you change image settings iin your administration, that will have no affect on existing images. That would only affect images uploaded on new listings placed after you change your admin settings. You can also submit a support ticket from our website directly through our support pages. TemplaceCodes.com/support/ It shows in your posting that you are running 68 Classifieds version 4.1.6. The current version at the time of this posting is v4.1.10 which corrects several known bugs and fixes to the software script. We would highly recommend that you upgrade your 68 Classifieds installation.
I have entered and reentered the same images and everything is sliced from the bottom in my new Sigma upgrade. I have entered the same exact picture into your demo site and it comes up correctly. http://demo.templatecodes.com/viewlisting.php?view=197 and it works on your demo. That means my old settings -- which were purrr-fect for me in Fluid Templates of 10/2009 -- now need to be adjusted and I had no forewarning. Mind telling me the default dimensions in your templatecodes demo site? I have not altered any css file, only gave some minor (so far) cosmetic mod to layout.tpl and home.tpl. Surely there has to be a css file which controls the dimensions of the pix -- I am getting every pix sliced off from the bottom. No difference between new or old pix. So what file are the dimensions being directed from, please? Also, are you telling me I have to have a hundred ads get redone?
Images are controlled in the admin image settings. I visited your site and it took me a while trying figure out what you were talking about. Looking at the home page and all the images were showing fine in all of your featured listings, newlistings and top listings. I did a blank search to bring up the searchresults showing of listings and again, all of the images were fine. I finally discovered since you did not provide the details as asked in the previous posts that you must be talking about the actual viewlisting page. Seriously, when asking people for help or support you need to help them to enable them to help you. If you had simply said this is the display in the viewlistings page or the gallery when you view a listing, it would have been quite easy for anyone, not just TemplateCodes to see exactly what the issue that you were actually talking about was. I'm not saying this to be mean or start anything with you. I'm saying it to help you get better help. Suggestions: When you're signature is stating you're using an old version of 68C and someone posts that you should upgrade. Try simply stating that you have and you forgot to update your signature to show that instead of posting that you are running the latest along with a post of a completely erroneous version number. Instead of saying that it's the listing with the belly dancer, perhaps link to that exact listing, you're already there and know which one it is. No one else does. Stick to the facts. Instead of saying my images are "chopped up" when they are not doesn't help. Saying that both new and old uploaded images aren't right, when indeed the new ones actually are also doesn't help. Lastly, try to help yourself as well. A simple search for your issue would have provided you with this thread posting in the forums. images dramas please help The answer to your issue: If you want to continue to use the gallery image display that is currently in your viewlisting page, then you will need to change your image settings to a much smaller size if you want them to display in it's entirety. It looks like you must have already figured that out, dispite your claim that new images also don't display correctly, the two (I'm assuming) new images in the belly dancer listing actually do display within the display panel of the gallery. I would suggest image sizes for use with the gallery as Max width 420 and Max height of 300. In my opinion, having users upload images as in the belly dancer example of 954 x 1053 is ludicrous! No template is going to display that within the browser window let alone someone with a 17" monitor.
Thanks for the link, Templatecodes-Mike. I'd thought I'd explained the problem adequately but I am sorry I was not giving you the exact pagename I was on -- although I'd thought I gave a link both times, to the example page and to your demo site where I uploaded the pix. I have an extensive investment in Templatecodes since 4.09, with much more to come and, in the future I would appreciate it if you spent the bulk of your time helping me solve my problem rather than telling me how stupid I am for not giving exact programming criteria you should have easily recognized in the first place. In the link you gave me you can notice Larry Hotch give a simple direct answer, not a page long "I'm not saying this to be mean --- but..." statement of my ineptness as a user who doesnt know the code as best as you. I had an honest problem and honest concern and real desire to learn and apply the 68C/Templatecodes tools as best as I can to my own applications. I expect to be treated by the new Templatecodes tech support with courtesy and respect -- as I have in the past by David, John, and Eric. And I will endeavor to be as exacting as I can be in describing my problems. BarryG
Glad that you got your issue sorted out as well as being one that helped you achieve your resolution.
