    Hello TemplateCodes Team!

First of all I just want to say thank you for providing such a wonderful template system. You guys did a great job! I used to own your NuStyle Template but unfortunately life put it on the back burner. Hopefully now with your new system and the newest version of 68 Classifieds and a little elbow grease, I can make something happen.

I have a few questions that hopefully you guys could assist me with.

    1. I have the zip code and SEO mod that I purchased from 68 classifieds about two years ago. I downloaded the most recent versions but was wondering if they work with your Sigma System?

    2. If the SEO mod does work with your Sigma system, could you give me some instructions on how to install it? The instructions that came with the mod seem to be outdated since it talks about regenerating mods. It's easy for a novice like me to get confused when the instructions are not current.

    3. I want to use the Listing Filter to search for communities in my city and not the U.S states. I have an excel file with the list of communities already done. Would you be able to assist me in making this possible?

    Thank you for your time!

    George

These modules work with the Sigma and Neo templates. I presume you mean the search engine friendly url module?

The SEO module (the search engine friendly urls) behaves and is set up in exactly the same way as far as I remember.

You can do this with the listing filter by simply replacing the states in your control panel with cities or you can make an extrafield to hold the city.

    Thanks for the response!

Sorry guys, I'm still a little confused. I get the idea but I'm still a little cloudy on the details. Here's what I'm hoping to achieve and hopefully you can point me in the right direction, and hopefully the easiest path.

    1. When users register I would like to have a drop down field called cities so they can select the city they live in. This way they don't have to type anything in. I already have the list made up in excel.

    2. I would also like the Listing Filter to show those cities instead of the states that currently appear.

    3. I would also like the cities to show up in the search page.

I know you gave me two options already but I'm not really sure which way would work best. A push in the right direction would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

    1. You may need to modify the userjoin.tpl file to use your dropdown of cities.
    2. Yes this was answered already - you can either make an extrafield to hold all of these cities or you can simply put them into the "states" area in the 68C admin control panel. Either way the listing filter can be set use them.
    3. The current city field is formed from what users have registered in the city field. There is a practical reason for this (i.e why would you want to search in empty places). You would probably decide to turn this off in your case from search anyway. You would deploy the listing filter instead as it will only allow search or display category listings in the location set in the listing filter.

    Thank you seymourjames!

I will take your suggestions and hopefully find success at the end of the tunnel.

    Thanks again for your time

    George ;)
