Default Easy Installation - no problems

I'm not totally new to website development, having originated and further developed half a dozen sites over 4 or 5 years, but I'm far from expert. I downloaded 68 Classifieds in the early hours of last Tuesday (dial-up speed, so went to bed while it downloaded).

On Tuesday morning I got up and read through the installation instructions. "Merde, alors!", I thought, "I could make a complete bordel of this" (read this with a French accent).

I comforted myself with the thought that I could always get my money back if I didn't succeed in installing 68 Classifieds within the 14 day probation period took a deep breath and started at Step 1.

Very soon the whole job was done and 68 Classifieds was successfully installed! Pas de problème!

Thank you for a very good set of instructions easy for even a relative beginner to master.

Just one thing, I counted 7 folders and 1 file to CHMOD, not 5 folders and one file. Perhaps you should make a correction to this step of the instructions.

Unfortunately, because my ISP (Orange FR) is probably the worst ISP in the world - the worst I have ever had, anyway, and I've subscribed to several since 1984 - I can't yet actually see my new site on its proper url. My hosting company gave me a temporary preview address so that I could make sure I had installed everything correctly.

There's still a lot to do, but now I have much more confidence that I'll be able to achieve what I want just by reading the flippin'manual and following the instructions!

Good to hear it went well. Totally concur with your comments about your ISP - LOL. It is petty they did not write clear instructions.

Hi,

Glad you got it going and sorry about the error in the documentation. Do you remember where you read that? I just checked here and it didn't say that: Installation Instructions - 68 Classifieds
