Lightbulb Now let's play nice

So just to recap. Everyone let's learn from this and move on. At the end of the day we are all striving for the same thing. A better product. Right?

I am waiting for someone to man up and say "yeah this is an oversight of the code. Glad you pointed that out." That is all I am asking for. But all I am hearing is CYA. CYA. Blah Blah Blah. I happen to find a flaw in the code that could be fixed so that other developers can customize and not have the same problems I faced. Someone grow some balls and say "yes, this will be fixed."
I have a lot I could say in response to your numerous posts in this thread but it really isnt worth the time or effort because just like in expressing your concerns for a "flaw in the code" you seem to have blinders on so I am positive anything I will say will fall on deaf ears.

For starters, there is no flaw in the code of the template in terms of how things are laid out and displayed. They work as furnished and as intended.

The few lines of css you slapped together to resolve the problem is likely obvious to anyone with a decent amount of design experience and would be employed by these same people to make similar changes. The fact that we have not heard countless other complaints like your own is a clear indication that those people who are not lemmings and do modify their template are simply more competent with CSS than you are.

I admitted to you early on my strength does not lie in CSS but in coding. I posed some additional questions to help clarify for others who may be reading and I also tried to explain to you that your support requests were outside of the obligation 68C commits to and that there was no problem with the templates display as it was designed. Yet none of this is what you wanted to hear so you droned on getting louder and saying the same thing over and over.

Once again, your inability to modify a template and even the difficulty level of modifying a template does not mean there is a problem with the template. There is no statement about the ease at which the script or its templates are modifiable. Try complaining to an auto manufacturer that you cant fit a big block under the hood of your subcompact car and see how far you get.

These forums are NOT 68C's official support channel, their ticket system is. If you were unhappy with the support you got here on the forum you should have submitted a support ticket. Along those same lines, if you dont like the default template submit a support ticket or submit a bug and/or feature request via the bug tracker.

Ive requested my mod title be removed because frankly having to deal with people like you day in and day out who come here and think because I am a forum mod that I somehow owe you support is getting old and not worth the headache.

For me, you miss the main points. The forum is not an official place to obtain support. Willing parties try to assist but in this instance you failed to explain the problem and indeed offered dead links most of the time. Instead you went into criticism about a product which meets its purpose (just not your particular one).

You decided to modify the template and it is your responsibility and nobody else to make it fly. It doesn't matter that the change requested would appear trivial. Its not trivial if you cannot see it. This lack of acceptance and pushing criticism is what got up people's noses.

It does not say that you can freely change the color of the template nor do this and that with it. It is effectively a template which can be the start of your project if you have the right skills or indeed a perfectly acceptable end for those that don't. You found a solution to your goal by looking at another site. That is all you needed to say.

The limits and features of the default template are defined by the developer's technical skills, their interpersonal communication skills (how to ask, what to say, ability to explain, etc) and the willngness/ability of those to assist.
