Default Which htlm and graphics editor to use

Hello

I am close to purchasing the classified program, however my knowledge of any coding is nile.

But I feel I can learn quickly, I am going to keep the site clean and simple but may want to change colours, logo and add the odd graphics.

I want a column for business adverts down one side also, is this hard to setup.

Could any one point me in the right direction for free htlm and graphics editors that will do the job?

I know my friend has dreamweaver mx, but I dont know how hard that is to get to grips with.

Any help would be most appreciated.

Chers

It is not hard at all.
Dreamweaver or FrontPage could do the job.
However it is better to learn html a little.

Good luck and welcome to 68c community

dreamweaver is awesome and not too hard to learn,

It is really good to learn some basic html as your going because your can flick back and forth between design(visual layout) and code (html format), so as you learn html you can write in code and drop back if you have to, when your not sure how to do something.

Another good program that is proffecient in not adding unwanted code is php designer, it is purely code though, its pretty good once you know a little html, you can do your php coding and test it within if your going that far with the learning curve,

There is a free copy of that available if you search "php designer",

As for graphics editors theres heaps of free ones if you google it and find one you like and i believe the package of Dreamweaver MX has a copy of fire works it which is one of the ones i prefer for certain tasks.
good luck, its fun learning, and developing this stuff

I use dreamweaver and write (cut, copy, Paste) code almost all the time. It's really nice using one program for code/design and FTP. I put the file manager on one monitor and the pages on the other. I'm really into workflow. If you use a separate FTP program, you might forget to save the file before uploading where DW will remind you. You can search for bits of code, phrases, etc by page, folder, even the whole site and then replace if you want. Stuff like that.

As far as learning code, you can use design mode and make stuff up then with one click view the code that was written. You can have a split screen to see both at the same time. There's also a reference section with code definitions. Snippets. Templates. Create tables with a couple of clicks then just tweak 'em to your liking. I think it's a very good program, but you can use something really basic and free like Notepad++ http://sourceforge.net/projects/notepad-plus/

My editor of choice is Coffee Cup HTML editor. Has both visual and code screen, plus preview. Built-in FTP. A handy Code snip feature to drag and drop frequently used pieces of code. Plus much more. Cheap and free lifetime updates, too. Oh, try before you buy.
