Default Renewal option still shows when I click on upgrade?

Hey gang!

Just came across this issue.

When I click on the Modify my Account link, I'm taken to the page where I have my test ads.

Some of them show Upgrade and some Click here to Renew or Upgrade links.

When I click on Upgrade, why does it still give me the option to Renew my Ad?

Shouldn't I only get the upgrade options?

Hope someone can help. Thanks!

I dont fully understand - post a screenshot - do you mean some ads are active and some are not?

Sorry David if I didn't make sense. Here I go again.

1. In the Modify my Ad page you get two different types of links depending on the time your ads have been posted.

2. The links are Upgrade and Click here to renew or Upgrade.

3. If I click on Upgrade, it takes me to the payment method page

4. On the payment method page, the renewal option shows up which I thought wasn't suppose to be there. That means there is no difference between the two links if the renewal option appears when you click on either one.

5. I also noticed that when I set Allow Renewals to no in the admin, it still shows up on the payment method page.

Hopefully this makes more sense, and I included a screenshot to give you a visual. Thanks!

What happens if you use the default checkout - just deactivate the quick checkout module. Does it show or do the same thing.

Yes David it does do the same thing. I also tested my issue on the 68Classifieds demo site and I see the same issues happening there. What are your thoughts on this?

Please contact me by email. I may be able to make a modification to the quick checkout module to overcome this issue. That is a maybe. I have done it on three of my own sites but they are quite specialized and not standard.

It appears this is actually how it is meant to work. You are presented with 4 options because if it is a renewal you have the option to upgrade it at the same time. Looking at my own sites I have left it like that too. I also seem to remember this question was answered some time ago on the forum. What you are actually asking for is to decouple upgrade for a current advert from renewal/upgrade of a current advert. Unfortuantely it does not work like that. sorry I was thinking about another issue of inactive/incomplete adverts where some needs to finish them.

Thank you David for looking into it. I guess the best thing to do is to rename the link that says "Upgrade" to "Click here to Renew or Upgrade". This way it keeps it consistent and it won't confuse the users by having two different links that do the exact same thing.

Thanks again!

George
