Default Hitcount not adding up

What version of 68 Classifieds are you running?
V4.1.6 Designer upgraded to developer

What template are you using?Default

Please describe in detail the issue you are having:
The total on hitcount for June to date has about 30% more than total page hits per Google, it looks like certain registered user have huge hits in hitcount with zero in searchcount, I cant find any problem with the code.

Anyone any idea whats going on? I need to publish figures shortly but dont have faith in their accuracy. Help!!

The hit counters are designed to just increase the hit count on each page load. So technically if someone visits that one page and refreshes it is another hit. It would also be increased by search engines hitting the page.

You could probably incorporate the php variable $_SERVER['HTTP_USER_AGENT'] to determine what the client is. Google on "server agent" or "determine server agent".
