We've been receiving emails like the following pasted below. A customer received one this morning. What is it? Where are they coming from? How do we stop it! We received 3 today alone.

Join the club - we are all getting spam daily. There is little or nothing which can be done about it. whatever you do the spammers will find a way to break through because for them the stakes are high. You may think this is just annoying rubbish but it is actually aimed at flooding the internet so more malign emails will go unnoticed in the noise of random/meaning less spam. Its like electronic warfare by those that have stuff to hide.

why have you posted this in third-party support? I think it needs to go more generally and will move it.

FlyAgain, our Scam Filter module will prevent this.

Recently, we used to get spam emails in the format mentioned by FlyAgain.

It was really a pain.

We deactivated Freecap Captcha Module.

Installed and activated reCaptcha Module.

Then, we do not receive any spam emails until now (more than a month).

Looks like reCaptcha is more effective than Freecap Captcha.

Only for a time. Spam is part of life. The new spamming programs are excellent and will circumvent a recaptcha. They are not cheap and will only be used by professionals. In addition, you cannot stop human generated registrations from india and china unless you control them through your admin control panel. I delete 5-10 human registrations a day. Look at it like your site is successful because it is attracting attnetion
