Default Quick Checkout Module: "Failed to Verify Logged In Status" on image upload

What version of 68 Classifieds are you running?
v4.1.10 Developer

What template are you using?
68-auto with heavy customization

Please describe in detail the issue you are having:
I have an error in the quick checkout module that must have something to do with all of the template edits I've made lately, but I can't figure it out.

The site is live - http://www.dealsonbikes.com

When you go to list a bike for sale, the image upload fails. The reported error is:

"Upload Log

1. Upload failed: honda-motorcycle-006.jpg :error: Failed to verify logged in status."

What could I have done to the template to cause this issue?

Thanks,

Jason

It would be pretty much impossible to guess what changes that you have done to cause an error such as this. However, it would seem that if you can get to the Quick checkout module to begin with, then that indicates that it is only the image upload module is not detecting the logged in status.

My suggestion would be to deactivate the image upload module AND delete it. Reupload the image upload module from your original download from TemplateCodes. After uploading, then activate the module again in your administration and then test it. As we haven't received any other reports of anything like this, it is most likely that there was some issue with your original upload such as file corruption.

I should have phrased my question differently.

What would cause this error? Is a cookie not being set correctly? If so, would the error be in the template header?

I've deleted and replaced all three modules (quick checkout, image upload, and templatecodes) and I'm still getting the error.

Any chance there's a JS conflict? I made too many changes at once to know for sure (I know, dumb thing to do), but I feel like there's a possibility AdSense ads are interfering.

Thanks,

Jason

Please test with the default template. Lets isolate if it is your template or not.

First, thanks to both of you for getting involved and trying to figure this out.

Second, I've spent some time trying to hammer this down. Here's what I know.

In FIREFOX - Both using the default template and my customized template, I get the error. Just for giggles I cleared all my cookies and temp. files both ways before trying.

In IE7, using my custom template, I do NOT get the error (works fine).

In Chrome, I get the error with both templates.

Previously to 1) updating some form styles and 2) adding Google adsense, the image system worked fine...so it's got to be some change we made.

Short of starting over or going file by file, I'm hoping that the fact IE7 works and the other two don't helps isolate the problem areas. If you've got any ideas on where to look for trouble, I will be most appreciative.

Have you modified core files? It looks like you have.

The fact it is not working in your default template means that it could be a core file change or something on your hosting. Ask them and they should be able to trace the problem.

We do not support chrome by the way although we rarely get issues as we do support safari.

Its due to a defect with IE and Flash Player, basically you have a cookie that is set that identifies your session in IE, however even though you use Firefox, Flash Player is sending IE cookies. To solve the problem delete your firefox session/cookies and cache and do the same for IE. Then login again in firefox and do the checkout, provided no session cookies exist in IE, the correct ones for firefox will work without issue. In every instance I've seen this issue, this solved it.

John you are the MAN! Thanks a lot. I guess it wasn't my template mods after all...it was my cross-browser testing.
