Don't worry about the English. Most of them are American here.

Now, the text in the footer is set in the layout.tpl file within your template folder. You can edit it out of the template (near the bottom). Again, you would add a banner to the sidebar in your layout.tpl file.

Upgrade is a process that is documented. Please read it so nothing goes wrong. Follow the instructions. Make a back up first of your files from the server and your database. This is a wise thing to do. Then you upload all the new files. Then you run the upgrade process which is shown in the readme document (BE CAREFUL TO UPGRADE AND NOT DO AN INSTALL).

I looked it up, but

I could not resist the joke. Sometimes my British sense of humor gets the better of me. Its sweet revenge for me after all those years working for an American company where they tried in vain to correct my pronunciation and my use of 's' rather than 'Z' in anything I wrote or published.

You can make the edit in the language file or the layout file. You edit the contents of this variable {$smarty.const.LANG_TITLE_FOOTER}
