What version of 68 Classifieds are you running?
Example: V4.1.6 Designer

What template are you using?
TC Elise 2c

Please describe in detail the issue you are having:

I just added a category and want to add a parent and child extra fields.

From the extra field page, I cant find the category I need to add the extra field to.

Do you know why?

My first guess is to make sure you didn't add a link to this category. By adding an external link I do not believe you can assign extra fields.
