"Remember My ID" not working - again

This question may be related to a resolved thread: "Remember My ID" not working - 68 Classifieds Forums.

What version of 68 Classifieds are you running?
Example: V4.1.6 Designer

What template are you using?
Own template / Standard templates

Please describe in detail the issue you are having:
Sorry, problem was not solved...
When users log in and check the "Remember My ID" option, they have to log in again at their next visit.
If they keep their browser open, no problem.
When shutting down the browser sometimes they are recognized but mostly not.

The cookie "classlogin" is created and valid for a year - but looks as if it's not recognized by 68Classifieds.

I took a deeper look into the template and found out that it's only the variable "$smarty.session.username" that contains the username but "$smarty.cookies.username" is always empty.

Hi,

Can you submit a ticket through the customer area with a link to this thread and your ftp details? I can confirm this on your site but I am not having any luck duplicating it on my test sites.

I'll open a ticket but cannot provide FTP details (accessible only via VPN)

But I was able to reproduce that bug in several sites, including your demo area:

68 Classifieds
Every Ounce Counts

Everywhere the same symptoms:
- Logging in
- Cookie "classLogin" was set
- Quitting browser
- Opening browser with the site
- Welcomed as guest...

I tried that out on my mac with:
- Safari
- Camino
- Firefox
- Chrome

I'll check that later in the office with some WinXP browsers.
