Problem editing user account information

Please describe in detail the issue you are having:

I am using the three extra fields for user registration for company, contact phone and contact email.

Today for the first time since I started building a new 4.1.6 site I decided to edit the user account information. (useraccountmodify.tpl) If I delete information in any of the extra fields and click submit, the information returns. In order to remove the information in the extra fields I must put a space into the field. Then it will save without the information returning.

I can change the information in the extra fields without having a problem and none of the regular fields (name address, etc) has this problem? I tested the demo site and it does not have this problem. Any ideas what would cause this?

I just had a look and can confirm this. I have to think this has been added since v4.1.0 has been released because the demo is running a really old version.

I believe this was added because during checkout they are presented with a form to confirm their details and these extra fields are not listed on that page. So they will always be blank once they ad a listing.

I would recommend you add this to our bug tracker and I can do more debugging on it and try to get a fix.

I have posted the issue to the bug tracker. I hope I did it correctly. It was my first post there.
