Default cloud based hosting

Looking for a new hosting environment I came across Rackspace's cloud. Just wondering if anybody had experience with them and or installed 68 class on there.

I was in a brief chat session with one of their reps and he told me that they don't support javascripts on their Cloud sites offerings, but I would have to go with a cloud server.

Here is a dumb question: Do we need javascript in order to run 68 classifieds? I vaguely remember coming across some .js files. I'm planning on running templatecodes newest template as well.

Thanks

Yes - we used to be with them. Excellent. We only stopped because of cost.

You are talking about the cloud SITE service and not the cloud SERVER service, correct?

Their pricing is currently at $100+/month depending on bandwith. I'm just curious how much the real cost is per month once you include decent traffic.

Another off topic question: Have you changed the language file for your new Fliud and Evo templates?

Thanks

No - there have been no changes to the language file with the new templates.

68C uses javascript in various parts of admin and the front end.

You may want to talk with a different rep regarding their services. Javascript doesn't have anything to do with the server environment. Javascript doesn't use server services other than the files being on the server just like any other files are. The actual javascript itself is read and run by the local computer that is accessing the page(s).

My advice is to just run with Hostgator. It works first time without any problems. No special set ups.
