Default Checkbox Layout

Hello all,
I’m using 4.09 designer and have created a few extra fields containing multiple checkboxes. The standard templates will display the checkboxes in a very long single column. I would like to display them in multiple rows to make the page more visually pleasing.

Larry provided a solution in the forum for displaying the checkboxes in a table format on the viewlisting template however I am not able to figure out how to do the same in the checkout step3 template and the search template.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Depending on your level of php and css, my experience might help:
I edited the ajax.php file where I added a <span class="xf"> wrapper around the checkbox, then I played with my CSS file until satisfied with the result...
Some of my checkboxes now also include images and mouse-over effects and whatnot.
