Stop people using spaces in phone number?

Hi,
I am using a modified listingextras2.tpl to display the phone numbers and price. I found that if a user puts spaces in their phone number when signing up there is not enough space for the phone number and it goes to two lines which looks bad. If there a way to set it so it auto takes out spaces?

The simplest method would be to just strip them with a smarty modifier when they are displayed:

{$whateverthephonevariableis|replace:' ':''}
