Default Site Critique

Hello,

First, I wanted to thank everybody (especially 68C) for helping me with the couple questions I had.

Second, I was hoping you guys could take a quick minute to check out my site. I went for a small, no bling, type of setup, straight and to the point. I also intend on staying a small scale, so locality isn't a terribly big issue with me. I would like to get hooked up in an advertising network if anyone has pointers, (already enrolled in Google Adwords and Hydra). Thanks for your time!

Street & Strip Classifieds

Thanks,
Lee

Having audio blaring away as soon as you go to a site is one of the fastest ways to run people away, especially when there is not any apparent immediate way to shut it off!!!

Sorry, I'm not trying to be negative, but I am being honest. I didn't bother checking any further and immediately closed the browser window.

If you post that you shut the audio off, I'll go back and check it out.

LOL I see no reason why you would want to do sound like this.

I totally agree with you. I added that sound while at work and wasn't able to cut it down to the length I wanted. I've since changed the sound, from what I've seen, there's a good number of auto-related sites that have some kind of clip on the main page. I may take it out entirely, I'm still debating.

How about the rest of the page design?

Thanks again,
Lee

My main thought and it is a general one is this.

A classic step in marketing is to decide a theme for your site. My advice to you is to think about your automotive theme and how to make it come alive and differentiate it from the rest.

Great, but i am also having the problem that the logo is covering several buttons,

and a tip/question : why did you choose for volvusion, you know its loaded with advertising, (if you have windows) i recommend livezilla (free and no advertising). and if you want it to be completely webbased : webim, HCL.
