Default Looking for Classifieds Software...

Hey guys,

Joel from California. Long time, no talk! A funny thing happened.

I went online looking PHP Classifieds applications and you guys came up in Google. I am looking for some classifieds somewhere that I might launch online. If I run with it, I will want it to be a regional source for classifieds, with everything from pets to jobs, cars and junk being featured on it. The classifieds would be free, but I think it would be great to charge a small $5 fee to allow them to upload photos (for server space).

+ With the likes of Craig's List out there doing things for free, do you even think charging for photo uploads is even a good idea?

+ I have an existing site: Could your software easily be setup and configured be deployed alongside (or within) the existing website I currently have?

Thanks guys.

Not an official response, but 68classifieds will work fine with your existing site, depending on what type of integration you want.

The software's developer was injured a few weeks ago, and is still recovering. I don't know his current status, but he has been posting here, and I imagine that he is working on the V4 version that was still in beta at the time of his accident.

So don't read too much in the slow response to sales questions right now, as I'm sure there's a lot he needs to catch up on. Most of us who have gone the 68classifieds route have been happy with our decision.

If I were you, I would research it out now, but probably wouldn't do an install until V4 is final. Unless you just want to tinker with V3.

Hi Joel,
bearcat is pretty much spot on. I had a very nasty elbow injury a few months back and still haven't fully recovered. Right now I am trying to get everything caught back up and get v4 finished.

But yes you can change the design to fit almost any layout. The majority of the layout is handled through a layout template file and the style sheet.
