Default Last question I hope :)

I am not much of a programmer and will likely do nothing more than add a couple of the mods I see listed in the feature section. Is the developer version required to be able to use the mods? Additionally, if at some point in the future I need to make more changes than I origionally realized can I upgrade from designer to developer?

You can use the modules with either version. If you do purchase the designer and later wish to upgrade you will just have to pay the price difference.

I only had a basic knowledge of programming when I discovered 68. After a year, I love programming and this software has helped me so much. If you wish to learn, have the support you need etc go for the Developers kit. Its worth ten times more!

Maffo, not to hijack the thread or anything, but I really have no programming background, and would really like to begin learning how... what material (books, and such) would you recommend for someone like myself?

Thanks

I have two books, PHP5 and Mysql. I have had no use for them whatsoever and have left them in the UK.

All my sources are on the internet. The best way (i have found) is modify existing codes. Books only provide references and it is very difficult to know what to search for. With google you put in your request, get an example of the code, copy & paste it, mess around with it. That way you learn exactly what that piece of code does. This is how I have taught myself HTML, CSS & PHP. I am still learning everyday. I set myself new tasks all the time, "I want this on my site, how will I do it?" I try and do it myself, if it doesnt work, i go to google. If i cant find what Im after, I will ask members on this board.

In my honest opinion, you just need to tinker with your 68 site. This will teach you HTML, CSS, MYSQL and PHP. You can buy any amount of books on these but none that will contain exclusive information that isnt availablel on the internet. Hope that helps.
