Why spammers so stupid???

What he wants to archive when posting something like this
"FOR SALE SIDEKICK 3 AT JUST ............$200usd"
on classifieds software forum?

There are a lot of much profitable ways to make money online.

Yea we get them all the time.

I guess they assume no one will notice and not ban them. But they are wrong.

What further usually indicates their level of intelligence is that the are bright enough to post their spam when mods and admins are clearly online. Duh!

They are complete numpties, the last straw was when I had them post porn on mine, so I set new users to manual authorisation which stops them accessing the forum and I just delete them, but there is no way you can do that on here.

There must have been 6 threads on here today started by them

Yes, they are desperate and aparently dont realize that most people wont buy from them due to their lame tactice alone.

I deleted 7 posts this morning and banned 2 users.

Yes but the sad fact is someone must be purchasing from them or they would stop doing it. At least I would think so.

On a side note I found a vbulletin hack to integrate Akismet to filter spam. I think I may install this which will hopefully catch the spam before it is posted.

I'm looking at a registration mod so that they have to match 2 pictures to be able to register which the automated ones will not be able to do.

The spam filter sounds good as well will be interesting to see if it works here, I may try it as well if its good. Luckily for you most of your users are from US, and you have good moderators who can get on and delete the rubbish before the majority of users get online, which keeps it clean. So many forums don't bother which is offputting.
