Default Just purchased software....

I just purchased the software this afternoon and have been very impressed with the product (developers edition) to this point. Ease of installation with Ion Cube went flawless and I am currently beginning to intergrate it into Joomla CMS.

You can view the working site @ The Albemarle Prophet

just click on the "Community Classifieds" icon to see it live.

Any feedback and or suggestions is always welcomed.

~ Welcome ~

How do you like Joomla? It is available on my current hosting package, but not too sure how involved it would be to setup. Can you comment?

Again, Welcome to the 68 family. I can say, with confidence, that you will discover this to be one of the best, if not the best, forums around!

Welcome Prophet.

Site looks good but a couple things I noticed using firefox. The small calender on upper right hangs over the left edge of its box. The login fields in left column also seem to overlap thier css border.

Thank you for the welcome. I have used many Boards and CMS packages. In my opinion Joomla is a excellent CMS package. The back end is really user friendly. In creating content and expanding the site. Adding themes is a breeze, there are a ton of modules and components available to meet most needs. with addons like Jaclplus you can enhance your user permissions. Community Builder for sites that want more member information and tracking.

Since starting with Joomla, I have converted my sites from VBPortal with VBulletin to Joomla. You can bridge VBulletin to Joomla along with Flash Chat.

unitedsquads.net
tbcpoa home owners association
Moyock Commons

Right now I have used the Wrapper function to frame 68 classifieds into Joomla. It would be pretty cool to look at doing a backend component to integrate 68 classifieds backend into Joomla. I'm looking at doing the same thing with OsCommerce.

If your hosting package offers it why not try it out. Joomla is a open source package based off of Mambo.

Yep I noticed that as well. I'm looking into the CSS and php code to adjust that. I'm not the brightest bulb in the world when it comes to CSS and php, so its taking me longer to fix it than I would like. LMAO.

One thing I did in the past with mambo and an older version of 68C was to modify the default 68c template basically removing the left hand navigation, header and footer. I then incorporated navigation links for the classifieds into the mambo menus.

I never fully tested it but it was a pretty smooth integration in terms of looks.

You can simply convert the layout.tpl file to look like your joomla.

Thats what I did with phpbb. Both sites look identical.

The first is with phpBB the second is with 68,
